Introduction to Classical Drawing
10-Week Classical Drawing Course
This course shows you the fundamental principles and techniques of classical drawing, and helps you to apply these traditional methods to your own work. The four key components of pictorial representation - design, line, value and form - are explored through a series of theory, exercise and practical application.
This course will be running in two different venues - in Wexford and Waterford - beginning this September 2017. Please see venues, dates, and details below.
You will gain a very good understanding and appreciation for the methods and techniques involved in classical drawing, as well as its historical context and how it can benefit your own work regardless of your style. You will develop many skills and techniques including how to:
- Set up and reproduce a master drawing
- Use the sight-size method
- Render light and shadow effectively
- Create the illusion of form
- All materials included
- 10% off art supplies
- Detailed hand-outs
